2019 in Films: 365 Days, 426 Films, and a Year Full of Cinema!

2019 was a whirlwind of a year. FilmStruck closed down in late-2018, and by early-2019 I found myself moving back to Los Angeles to work for NetflixFilm. It’s been an incredibly fulfilling year, but with all this work (and travel for work! and moving back across the country!), I definitely watched far fewer films than I have in previous years. I’ve also found I’ve had less time to dedicate to this blog, but as always I have kept track of everything I’ve watched. So, here’s everything I watched in 2020, plus a little context. I definitely didn’t do as good a job of keeping parity in what I watched in 2019. There’s a few factors that contributed to that (overall, I watched less movies outside of what I watched for work than I normally do), but I’ll definitely make a better effort in 2020.

Which brings me to my favorite new-to-me film I watched in 2019: Steve De Jarnatt’s Miracle Mile. I am so happy I finally watched this film after meaning to for many years. Here’s my full, joyous, spoiler-filled review of the film.

With 2019 and a decade coming to a close, I want to say thank you to all my readers who have followed me on this blog (and elsewhere on the internet) for the last ten years. As many things have changed in my life professionally I’ve had less time to dedicate to my writing here, but really appreciate the continued support.
