The good people at Warner Brothers have set me with up with a free download of the 70th Anniversary edition of Orson Welles’ masterpiece Citizen Kane for one of my lucky readers. Leave a comment with your email or twitter (so I can tell you if you won!) and I’ll pick a winner at random on Tuesday. The download comes with all the special features.

Warner Brothers is releasing this fantastic 70th Anniversary edition on DVD, Blu-Ray and as a digital download from iTunes on Tuesday. They’re also running a contest to win an iPad on the official Citizen Kane Facebook page.

I simply cannot wait for this new edition. I saw Citizen Kane recently on the big screen at the TCM Classic Film Festival and the new print was so crisp and beautiful. I hope the rest of you are as excited as I am!

    OMG I loooovvvveee this movie. It is such a masterpiece and Welles was truly a genius – a boy genius and the ultimate Infant Terrible. The cinematography, the script, the acting, the sets and set decoration. Everything is perfection. I would really like to win LOL But if I don’t I will buy it.

    Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! I must win this! Not sure I would agree with the consensus of it being THE greatest film of all time (that’d be The Godfather in my opinion) but it’s certainly a top ten of all time and one of my all time favorites. Every time I watch it I find something new to love and appreciate, especially in Toland’s cinematography or Welles’ performance. It’s such a shame that people tend to approach the film like a boring textbook or something, due to it being taught in every film class every, as well as the film’s reputation. It’s a sensational, exciting film! It’s meant to be enjoyed! 😀

    Citizen Kane is classic masterpiece, definitely one of the greatest movies of all time (if not the greatest). It was featured in my journalism textbook and we discussed it which made me really happy. I need this in my DVD collection.
