Harry: Donna must be tearing her hair out doing this wedding on her own. What would the father of the bride normally do?
Tanya: Pay. [beat] Though my dad drew the line at my third.

Josie McCoy: If I could just go back in time and change everything back, I would!
Melody: That’s really cool. If I could go back in time, I would want to meet Snoopy.

Movie Quote of the Day – Zero Motivation, 2014 (dir. Talya Lavie)

Daffi: Doesn’t our friendship mean anything to you?
Zohar: Friendship? You just wanted to fuck off. Real friendship means sticking together.
Daffi: Real friendship means caring about someone no matter where they are. You only care about yourself.

Lila: When I was a little girl, I made my own rules. That’s what it is to be free. As you grow up, the rules enforce themselves on you. Sometimes you have to break them. But once you break one, soon you’ll be breaking them all.

Bob Rueland: Would you go out with me?
Grace Briggs: Yes?
Bob Rueland: Is that a question?
Grace Briggs: No, it’s a yes. Yes.
Bob Rueland: Tomorrow night?
Grace Briggs: Yes.
Bob Rueland: Eight o’clock?
Grace Briggs: Yes.
Bob Rueland: Pick you up here?
Grace Briggs: Yes.
Bob Rueland: My, you’re a very difficult woman.

Movie Quote of the Day – Alle Anderen, 2009 (dir. Maren Ade)

Gitti: You’re so afraid of committing to something. Maybe that’s idealistic, but it’s not very brave either. I don’t mean just your work. I mean everything, you don’t even notice it. You can’t take 14 days for one decision. Or endlessly consider inviting two people to dinner. That’s total standstill. You’re so depressingly intent on not letting anything restrict you or distract you from your ideals. Sure, theoretically you’re free to go anywhere you want, but then you really have to do it. It’s always, “Should I do this or that, no this, no that. . . ” Then you don’t do any of it! Because you’re attached to your studio, bikes and books, like people are to their children. Then you show off your independence, forcing Phillip to tell you how much he misses his freedom because of his family. But what you don’t see and he probably doesn’t admit, is how nice it is to come home to where his children are sleeping. He’s free to leave the apartment again, but maybe he’d just like to lie in bed with his girlfriend. Why not take a risk? If it doesn’t work out, so what?

Movie Quote of the Day – Wendy and Lucy, 2008 (dir. Kelly Reichardt)

Wendy: Not a lot of jobs around here, huh?
Security Guard: I’ll say. I don’t know what the people do all day. Used to be a mill. But that’s been closed a long time now. Don’t know what they do.
Wendy: You can’t get a job without an address anyway. . .or a phone.
Security Guard: You can’t get an address without an address. You can’t get a job without a job. It’s all fixed.
Wendy: That’s why I’m going to Alaska. I hear they need people.
Security Guard: I hear it’s really pretty up there.
Wendy: Yeah.

Movie Quote of the Day – Stories We Tell, 2012 (dir. Sarah Polley)

John Buchan: In every relationship, I think, one person loves the other person more. But hopefully it’s close and hopefully it goes up and down a little bit, you know? But it seems to me you never can both equally love each other the same amount. It’s unfortunate, but it’s just sort of a fact of life.

Movie Quote of the Day – Rambling Rose, 1991 (dir. Martha Coolidge)

Mother: You can help with the dishes, even though it’s not a man-type thing to do. Man-type things. Women-type things. What does the creative force behind the universe care about such foolishness?

Movie Quote of the Day – Jenny’s Wedding, 2015 (dir. Mary Agnes Donoghue)

Eddie: Everybody changes. But if you’re with the right person and they change, you meet the right person all over again.
