New Posters For “Made in Dagenham” and “For Colored Girls”
I love Sally Hawkins and pretty much everyone else in Nigel Cole’s Made in Dagenham and For Colored Girls is perhaps the only Tyler Perry film I’ve ever actually wanted to see.
Posters For “Morning Glory”
I love the trailer for this film and I really hope it lives up to how great the cast list is. If it is as good as its pedigree it could be a serious contender for a Golden Globe nod for Best Comedy, as well as some acting nods. If it’s as smart as the trailer makes it look, is a hit with critics and does well at the box office, it may even have an long-shot chance for one of the ten Best Picture slots at the Oscars.
Morning Glory hits theaters on November 12th.
New Posters For “The Tourist,” “True Grit” and “For Colored Girls”
Each of these posters have a different style and each are for a movie that are completely different kind of movies. I can’t wait to see The Tourist because I love Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. The trailer for the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit has sold me on its merits. I generally don’t like Tyler Perry’s films, but this one looks like it could be so much better than his previous films. Regardless, this new poster for For Colored Girls is breathtaking.
New Poster For Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter”
Word out of the Toronto International Film Festival was pretty mixed, with a lot of critics calling the film “bland.” I still want to see it because I love Eastwood’s work and will always give him the benefit of the doubt. The new poster is pretty great too. Hereafter stars Matt Damon and Cécile de France and is set to open on October 22nd.
New Poster For Edward Zwick’s “Love and Other Drugs”
I really cannot wait for this film. The international trailer is more true to the plot of the film from what I’ve read than the domestic trailer.
It’s set to open during Thanksgiving weekend and Anne Hathaway has already drummed up some major Oscar buzz for her performance (she was nominated in 2008 for Best Actress for Rachel Getting Married). I really love Jake Gyllenhaal and I hope this is a grown-up enough performance to get the Academy’s attention again (he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Brokeback Mountain in 2005). I also really love Oliver Platt. He seems to be showing up in little supporting roles all over the place lately. I’m so glad. If you haven’t seen it, you should see the 90s road-trip/rom-com Michael, it’s one of Platt’s best performances.
