Movie Quote of the Day – Good Will Hunting, 1997 (dir. Gus Van Sant)

[reads a note from Will: “Sean, if the Professor calls about that job, just tell him, sorry, I have to go see about a girl.”]
Sean: Son of a bitch… He stole my line.

New Poster for Ben Affleck’s “The Town”

Finally an American poster for Affleck’s upcoming crime thriller. I posted the French version of the poster a week or so ago. I think I like it better than this one, but it’s nice to get another one. I am REALLY looking forward to this film. It’s got such a great cast, if Affleck manages to capture the same manic-yet-tense energy that his debut effort, 2007’s Gone Baby Gone, had then we’re all in for a real treat.

Trailer For Ben Affleck-Helmed “The Town”

I really love his directorial debut, 2007’s Gone Baby Gone, and this looks to be equally as good. It’s got an amazing ensemble cast including Affleck,  Jon Hamm, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, Pete Postlethwaite, Jeremy Renner and Chris Cooper.

You can see the trailer here over at Apple. The film hits theaters on September 17th, 2010.

Movie Quote of the Day – Dogma, 1999 (dir. Kevin Smith)

Loki: But you didn’t say “God bless you” when I sneezed!
Bartleby: [yelling off camera] LOKI!
Loki: You’re getting off light!

There were some newcomers who blew us away and some actors/actresses who have been kicking around Hollywood for years waiting for That Movie that makes them a household name, and for them 2009 was that year. I’m going to do this list in alphabetical order by last name.

Miramax Offices Close – The End of An Era

I hear on the grapevine though that the Weinsteins, who were bought out of Miramax years ago and started their own company – The Weinstein Company, are still trying to get the name back. I hope they do.

All through the 90s and early 00s Miramax, under the Weinsteins, pretty much dominated the Academy Awards.
